Obituary of Gayle Kathleen Rycroft

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gayle Kathleen Rycroft (nee: Kochendorfer), a long time resident of Valhalla Centre, Alberta, on Monday, March 30, 2015 peacefully at home with family by her side, at the age of 49 years following a hard fought and courageous battle with leukemia. Gayle was predeceased by her son Justin, mother-in-law Edie; her grandmother Harriet Brown, and her grandparents Larry and Helen Cobb. Gayle is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 31 years, Terry, her loving and adoring sons: Trenton (Shaylee) and their son, Gayle's pride and joy, Dean; and Brett (Julie). Also left to miss her terribly are her parents Glenn and Eleanor Kochendorfer, her brothers: Larry (Cathy) and Doug (Jolene), her sisters: Joanne (Dave) and Janice (Bill), her grandfather Tom Brown and Linda, father-in-law Jim Rycroft, brothers-in-law: Ken (Gail), Allan (Betty), Dale (Laurie), Gary (Coralie) and Gerald (Ronda), sister-in-law Judy (Randy), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members, and her very special, lifelong friend Daylene (Tim) and their family. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Armstrong and his staff of the Beaverlodge Hospital who were so supportive and caring during Gayle’s final days. A Celebration of Gayle's Life was held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Valhalla Viking Centre (Community School). In keeping with Gayle’s wishes, she was privately laid to rest beside her son in the Valhalla Centre Cemetery.
