Obituary of Erick Herbert Carlstrom

Herb Carlstrom, a resident of Hythe, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Beaverlodge Hospital on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Herb was born on the family farm at Hay Lakes, Alberta on August 11, 1929. He married Elva in July 1954. They resided on the family farm before moving to Grande Prairie and eventually to homestead land in Bear Canyon in 1962. Herb worked hard to have his farm prosper and also off the farm for the Dept. Of Highways for 25 years. Herb and Elva retired to Hythe in 1990. They lived in their own home until 2010 when they moved to the Hythe Pioneer Home. Herb is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Elva; sons Neil (Donna) and their children Megan (Jason), Chad (Britney) and their son Jake, Erin (Lyle); Rod (Dennise) and their sons Ryan and Kyle; Lyle (Shannon Nelson) and their children Emily, Joshua and Zachary; daughter Carol (Sid Hogg) and their children Riley and Heather (Devan). A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Hythe Legion at 11:00 am. Pastor Ella Loberg will officiate. A private family interment will follow in the Hythe Cemetery.
