Obituary of Kathleen Watson
Kathleen Watson, a resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Beaverlodge, at the age of 75 years.
Kathleen was born on November 18, 1945 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, to Ronan and Kitty Phillips. She was the fourth child out of six and the first girl born into the family. Kathleen grew up in the small town of Glenavy, Ireland. She met and married the love of her life, William Watson on June 19, 1970 and immigrated to Canada with their young daughter in 1976. Kathleen and William added another daughter and son to their family.
Kathleen was the beloved librarian at St. Patrick’s School in Grande Prairie for many years. She was an avid reader and passed that love onto her children and grandchildren. Kathleen not only loved and adored being with her family, but she also loved spending time with her dog, Boru. Kathleen was honest, had sharp wit and the gift of gab. She also had a keen sense of fashion.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years; William, children; Elaine (Jay) Simpson of Chestermere, AB, Claire (Matthew) Harris of Beaverlodge, AB and Paul Watson of Webster Corner, AB, grandchildren; Sinead, Ryan, Carter and Brielle, brother; Aiden Phillips, sister; Eva O'Donnell, as well as extended family and friends.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents; Ronan & Kitty Phillips, granddaughter; Ava Watson, brothers; Ronan and Gabriel Phillips, and sister; Carol O’Neill.
